Yes, yes, we know. It’s still more than 100 degrees outside. But sooner than you can say “triple digits” three times fast (our local TV weather people do it at least that many times a day), it’ll be December. And for Valley journalists and communicators, that means it’ll be time for SPJ’s one and only Valley Media Holiday Mixer. RSVP here so we can get a count for the free appetizers.

Join us 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Dec. 8, at our usual stomping ground, the conveniently located Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co.’s Miracle Mile location, 1418 E. McDowell Road (just west of the 51’s McDowell exit), where, also as usual, the big-hearted and big-walleted folks at your Valley of the Sun SPJ chapter will buy all the appetizers you can (reasonably) pile on a plate. (The drinks are on you; we’re not THAT big-walleted.)

Say goodbye to 2026 (we’ll know the election results by then — at least, that’s the expectation) with colleagues, competitors and the many hey-I-haven’t-seen-you-since-Ducey-was-governor media people in your life.
