The daughter and granddaughter of the late CNN founder Ted Turner will discuss and screen their new environmental documentary, “Groundswell,” Sept. 15 and 16, at events on Arizona State University’s Tempe campus and at its downtown Mesa center.

Turner’s daughter, Laura Turner Seydel, and granddaughter, Vasser Seydel, co-produced the documentary. Attend a conversation with them 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, in the auditorium (Room 107) at ASU’s Walton Center for Planetary Health, 777 E. University Drive, Tempe. They will discuss environmental solutions currently taking root — from regenerative agriculture and ocean protection to climate action — and what it will take to turn momentum into meaningful change.

The film will be screened the next day at 4:30 p.m. (doors open at 4 p.m.), Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the ASU MIX Center, 50 N. Centennial Way, Mesa. The film will be followed by a discussion featuring both producers, who will be joined by panelists from the Walton Center and from ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

“Groundswell” is the winner of the Golden Globe for Best Documentary at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. Viewers will travel across five continents to discover how regenerative agriculture is rethinking food, farming and our future.

Both the Tempe and Mesa locations are adjacent to stops on Valley Metro Light Rail’s B Line.
