Frank Camacho, one of Arizona’s first Latino news anchors, died Aug. 29 after a battle with cancer, family members said in a story posted the same day by Arizona’s Family. He was 75.

Camacho, who retired in 2012, reported many of Arizona’s most important stories during a more than 30-year career at Arizona’s Family, KTVK-TV, Channel 3 and KPHO-TV, Channel 5, in Phoenix, interviewing many top political notables, including U.S. Presidents Gerald Ford and Barack Obama.

Camacho was the first host of Arizona’s Family’s political roundup program, “Politics Unplugged,” today hosted by Dennis Welch.
