The Latino Media Collaborative and CALÓ News Arizona and the Arizona State University Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication will host a Latino Diálogo event, “The State of Latino-Led, Local News in Arizona and Beyond,” 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Cronkite School, 555 N. Central Ave., Phoenix. This event is free and open to the public. Get more information and RSVP here.

Journalists, media professionals and community leaders will celebrate progress, address challenges and chart a path forward for Latino journalism in Arizona and beyond.

According to the collective and CALÓ News Arizona, “This in-person gathering will delve into the critical role of local in serving Arizona’s vibrant Latino community. Together, we will examine how the current media landscape meets the unique needs of Latino audiences. Through an engaging discussion, we’ll also identify existing gaps in coverage and explore innovative opportunities to build a more inclusive, representative, and resilient news ecosystem for the region.”

The event is in collaboration with these Arizona local media outlets: Tucson Spotlight, Conecta Arizona, Prensa Arizona and Radio Cachimbona.
