Sorry, everyone: We were taking orders right up to 8 p.m. the night before, but our March 23 workshop is now “sold out” (in quotes because admission is free).
Arizona journalists: To earn the trust of a skeptical public, effective, impactful, responsible journalism is not only truthful and accurate, but also transparent and accountable. Proper, solid documentation of facts — often through gaining access to public records and public meetings — is a major component of building and maintaining that trust.
Find out how to get better access to public records and meetings, and know what you can and can’t do with cameras, cell phones, tablets and other electronic devices in courtrooms and government halls at this workshop, presented by the Valley of the Sun pro and ASU campus SPJ chapters and the Arizona Latino Media Association and co-sponsored by the Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists and PEN Arizona.
It’s 10 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Saturday, March 23, in the San Carlos Room at the Downtown Phoenix Post Office, 522 N. Central Ave. (at Fillmore). Sorry, this event is “sold out.”
Expected speakers for “Getting Access 2: Public Records, Open Meetings and More Good Journalism” include:
- Gabriella Bachara, reporter, 12News
